Americase Is Proud To Work With Standards Organizations and Regulatory Bodies Around The World To Support Standards and Legislation For Safe And Secure Lithium Storage And Transport.

SAE G-27 Lithium Battery Packaging Performance

SAE G-27, Lithium Battery Packaging, is a technical committee in SAE’s General Projects Systems Group with the responsibility for the development and maintenance of minimum performance package standards that support the safe shipment of lithium batteries as cargo on aircraft.

Americase works with the SAE G-27 Lithium Battery Packaging Committee to develop standards for the safe shipment of lithium batteries as cargo on aircraft.

Americase and Fulcrum Testing has coordinated to develop some of the most advanced testing and performance packaging in the world, and we are proud to be collaborating with global thought leaders to develop a standard which ensures air cargo safety

UN Sub-Committee of Experts on Hazard Based Classification of Lithium Batteries

Americase team members are actively involved in the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on Hazard Based Classification of Lithium Batteries.  In this informal working group, Americase helps as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help develop a hazardous material classification system for Lithium-Ion batteries (LIB) based on chemistry, size, dimensions, and their capability to propagate a thermal runaway event.  The findings of this committee will help standardize LIB classifications and their relative transportation and storage requirements globally.

COSTHA

The Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles, Inc. (COSTHA) is a dynamic and responsive industry association devoted to the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods.

Americase helps COSTHA engage with and develop best practices in collaboration with international forums such as the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods ( UNSCOE / UNTDG ), as well as domestic groups, governmental agencies such as Interest Groups, including PHMSA, DOT, USCG, FRA, FAA, FMCSA, and others.

Americase is a member and active participant in the Portable Rechargeable Battery Association (PRBA), and advocate for the rechargeable battery industry.  Through our involvement with PRBA, we provide policy recommendations and testing that help shape Lithium-Ion Battery (LIB) policies around transportation, storage, and recycling.  This process provides a quantitative approach for developing best practices and practical solutions for how LIB is handled across the industry.

We’re on the case to solve your mission-critical problems.
